The Left knows it is theft, but they will still support it because of greed.
Oliver Wendell Holmes is wrong — Taxation is not the price paid for Civilization. It is the complete opposite. A legalized form of Robbery, a monopolized Mafia stealing your hard-earned wealth through the excuse of legislation.
I shall make it demonstrable with an anecdote — You start your own business by employing homeless people in your community and your start-up company flourishes over time yielding exponential profits but you have been commanded by Washington to pay up what they demand and you can get to keep only a portion of your hard-earned wealth. Why? Because a substantial portion is sent not to you, who earned it, but to other people who haven’t earned it. Why? Because if it isn’t sent to them, they will declare your business criminal and possibly arrest you for not giving what the Federal Government demands.
So, the business is forced to take part of your profits and distribute it to those who have this power to make them do whatever they please masquerading as democracy.
Hilariously, it is Robin Hood who is chosen as the role model for justifying taxation: Didn’t he “steal” from the rich to “give” to the poor?
